The night was wrapped in stillness. No wind to greet the moon. The day was closed by sunset, No sound but calls of loon. The lake reflected moon-glow, The geese were nesting young. The mem'ry of your laughter, Lay silent 'neath the sun. I called your name and listened To hear you answer....then. I only heard in stillness, An echo in the wind. ***
