SILENT CONVERSATION

SILENT CONVERSATION

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Prose poem...nature.

"

Gazing over the plains nestled far below
inching our way over rock-strewn trails,
the words resounding through our thoughts
keep silent...like ivy growing wild, reaching
for moisture in several directions at once.

The attention we give these mountains needs
no conversation to make a point or hold  the
soul rapt with an abundance of peace.
Air is as light as heaven when the nights
rehearse their lines in circles of tranquility.

Silence fills the canyon walls like hope on a
short string tied to quiescent ambiance.
Stillness settles over us like shadows on the
craggy back of Longs Peak while we watch as
dawn clothes massive cairns with purple mountain
majesty and our mute response serves only to affirm....
to speak would be a sacrilege.

Your descriptions take me to a place where one is in sync with Mother Nature. My favorite lines are of air as light as heaven when the nights rehearse their lines in circles of tranquility - oh my, how dreamy a thought!! I agree that to speak would not be right but a Moonlight Sonata could possibly add to the charm of the moment!
Lovely!

Ah yes...perhaps a bit of Beethoven would make the scene perfect! Thank you so much Shelia. ~Sharon

oh what a picture you've painted with your words, Miss Sharon!
knowing that you're a pianist, this could also be likened to a Mozart or Chopin piece.

Yep. You are welcome...:)......
Splendid choice of vocabulary and incredible imagery. I felt as though I was on the mountain path with you, Sharon. There is nothing more serene than nature, is there? I find that at the shoreline. Beautifully written. Lydi**
