A prose poem about a "splendiferous" day in the Mountains of Colorado!
The drive at altitude through the South Saint Vrain Canyon
Displays the markings of a splendiferous day in which
We are overjoyed and humbled to be alive!
The air around us seems to hold the silence
Softly until a hint of distant drums fills up the empty
Space between the days of wild west heroes and today.
Spirit winds of ancient tribal ceremonies begin to
Permeate our thoughts and we both hear it and feel it...
That special bond with history, space, time and each other.
Arriving at Indian Peaks Wilderness Area only
Intensifies the aura of spiritual awakening as we tramp
A trail through an early autumn snowfall.
The view from Long Lake is a ''fill your eyes with glacial
Vistas and mountains reaching toward a perfect
Royal blue cloudless take your breath away sky' day."
The eye of the camera simply cannot capture the splendor and beauty
That goes on 'till the end of the world and beyond, or answer the
''Why can't we stay here forever?'' question we ask each time we're here.

Great piece my friend, you definitely brought back some beautiful memories
of the gorgeous Rocky Mountain's, this piece just gave me that Colorado
feeling inside, crisp clean air, beautiful bright colors and lakes so amazing
that God himself visits, lol! I'm headed back to Denver in 2 weeks!

Beautiful majestic poem in which your pen did indeed capture the beauty of this place. And who wouldn't want to stay there.
Well done Miss Sharon!
Kind regards,
