INSIDE THE LIGHT

INSIDE THE LIGHT

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

Written after the untimely death of my only son.

"

When clouds of darkness gather 'round
And stillness flaunts its somber sound,
I'm helpless to deny...
That things will never be the same
I see your face, I speak your name...
Oh how I wish to die!

The mem'ry of the life you had
Cut much too short, it makes me mad...
My heart is torn in two.
I love you like no other could.
I'd die for you...you know I would...
The world had not a clue!

When weeping ends I kneel to pray
And wish this night would turn to day...
I'm tired beyond belief.
Each sleepless night with endless pain
Now holds me fast with aught to gain...
Dear God, I need relief!

But...then I heard a gentle voice
Upon the winds of my own choice
Inside the light which shone.
My name was whispered like a prayer
I heard you say, ''Please don't despair.''
''You'll never walk alone.''

'INSIDE THE LIGHT'
Sharon,
Bless you for sharing this writing. It is very vulnerable and personal. Many can identify with this kind of loss but may not communicate. You did that for all of us. How does a person even begin to navigate? Such things simply have no instant answers but time is the place where we work our way along. I to have found the grace, strength and power of my Savior to be the clue and the key of healing.
Bless you and your writing.
Kathy

Your faith has gotten you through the hardest times in your life, Sharon. The fact you are able to write about it so beautifully proves it is a wonderful outlet for you. The rhythm and rhyme of every line in this poem is flawless. Wonderful work. Lydi**
