SELDOM USED

SELDOM USED

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

A love withheld.

"

Admiring you from a safe distance,
instinctively I know...you could never be mine.
Lines drawn in the sands of time hold fast to
one small, solitary, seldom used glass slipper.

'SELDOM USED'
Miss Sharon,
Admiring another but knowing that it can never be. Your poem gave
the message to enjoy the idea or awareness of people around us.
Not all meetings are meant to flower.
Lines three and four:
'Lines drawn in the sands of time hold fast to
one small, solitary, seldom used glass slipper.'
There is refuge from unnecessary pain when
we guard our hearts.
Blessings,
kathy

Superbly written both logically and poetically. It's not the apple on the tallest tree or the sweetest flavour but the fact that no means impossible. The acceptance of that stings - the slipper slips, sorry, but is true..

It's becoming so hard for me to read your work - present to past, never quite knowing whether to
judge' it on the fine style or - the content and its core.

Many times we let status, age or looks to stop us from putting the aggressive foot forward never knowing if we would be accepted. I really like the thoughts in this write. Valentine

You are very welcome. Kathie
This is a really beautiful piece. I always commend writers who can accomplish such a profound meaning in so little words. And loving someone who doesn't feel the same is a terrible feeling. But its always best to find some sort of solitary ground.

I am very appreciative of your wonderful comment Kristan! Thank you.
sometimes we do love another, but we withhold the foot, don't allow it to be fitted for the slipper because we are too afraid that it won't fit quite right and we will be hurt again.
so yes, there is a safe distance...protection. self-survival.
