RESTING GENTLY

RESTING GENTLY

A Poem by Miss Sharon
"

A love poem written for Valentine's Day

"

I see reflections of a flickering candle
From the twinkling stars in your eyes.
Your love supports me and lights up the night
As we dance to melodies of a rising moon.

I hear you whisper the night into being the one
Which has been selectively sequestered for us alone.
Your breath gently brushes my hair into beautifully
Knitted ornamental scarfs to ward off the cold.

You touch my lips with deliberate delicacy and
My heart begins its journey into a magical world
To which only lovers have been invited and it is
Colored with the buoyancy and joy of our new love.

A silken breeze wafts through an early morning mist
Sprinkling the aroma of fresh-blooming roses
Which you have grown and nurtured in the fragrant
Garden of promise for the one...and only one.

The first time our lips meet I become your
Willing captive for all of time...the sweet taste
Of perfect harmony and completion resting gently
On the open pages of my heart.

wow! that is so sensuous Sharon, I feel like you poured all your emotion into this homage to love and lovemaking, every stanza is a divine pleasure to be caressed with fingers lightly and whispered in the mind of passion, or in other words, I love it :)

This is a lovely piece. For the most part I prefer free verse. And it is good to see this writing in your wheelhouse as well.

Sharon,
"RESTING GENTLY" is a poem which inspires. I have wondered a little of creating a poem speaking of my own precious relationship. The thing a really appreciate about this poem of yours is its dignity and class. You treat with respect and tact your relationship which a proper placement within love. Thank your for this model. Blessings to you............Kathy
