I Hate This Pretending

I Hate This Pretending

A Poem by One Life

I hate this pretending,
Telling everyone this one lie.
I hate saying that I'm okay
When I'm the opposite of fine.

I hate this fake smile on my face
When I want to cry with every breath I take.
I hate this feeling that I have,
A constant reminder that I'll soon break.

I hate moving forward
When I'm about to collapse on the ground.
I hate being aware that staying this way means
I must not make a sound.
