The Life Of A BlueberryA Poem by OneDayOneChapterFree Verse Poem
They grow up,
Happy enough in their homes. Then they’re chosen. Chosen for what, you say? Chosen to be killed and eaten. Once they’re old enough, They live in fear of what’s to come. Eaten by animals or humans. Picked and eventually left to rot. Knocked down and squashed. Picked and cooked into muffins and pies. Few achieve the perfect life. Grow up safe and happy, And eventually turn old and fall on their own time. This is the Life of a Blueberry. Or possibly a Strawberry. Or maybe a Raspberry. Or it could be a Banana? Possibly a Coconut. What about a Grape? Do you think it could be a Lemon? I know! It’s a Kiwi! Or does this apply to all fruit??? © 2017 OneDayOneChapter |
