Passing By The Sea

May this journey last forever

With vibrant lives and eyes through sunny weather

Beside me a heart as full as mine

Let our minds wander into one another’s

In the pleasant chaos we enjoy

Where laughter fills the stuffy space

And outside the passing meadows

Where time moves slowly by

There it is, the fresh coastal air

Felt in bones and eyes and violent wind-swept hair

Yours is blowing everywhere now

But we’ll run on, laugh on with little care

Towards the deep blue ocean

Reflecting the untroubled sky

Waves crash against pale skin

And our eyes collide for a second.

Oh the life affirming breeze

And sand ever shifting beneath and between our feet

The waves will crash forever I think

Let’s watch them side by side ‘til they cease

And the sun goes down again

Clear sky a painter’s palette

If time slows down don’t be afraid

Together we can still the earth.

Deep red and orange light

With life slowing down for the forthcoming night

You and I will linger on a while

Oh what a blessing the gift of sight.

Backs to the wind, let’s avoid the beaten track

Minds alight with every gentle vignette

We’ll swerve, bold and wild-hearted

Into each and every sunset.

'Reflecting the untroubled sky

Enjoy the way you use irrgular mete , makes for reading aloud - a caress of words rather than stilted confinement. Togetherness and its future beautifully and musically laid.

I almost hear the waves in background as I read this poem. Your words create romanticism and utter beauty. Great, truly great job!

Byron said that Keats wrote of what might be, whilst he wrote of his life.
This, to me is Keats. Romantic and fulfilling. A feast of language and words.
