This HavenA Poem by OneAmongstManyThis Haven Feel and see the peaceful, ceaseless mizzle Lending a soft grey haze to the green. Walk the winding path with lining briars Throw a lonely stone back to the stream. Feel this misty air on reddening cheeks Smell wildflowers; dream honeysuckle dreams. I will show this haven to you someday. Travel down the cracking windy roads Throw caution to the ever-blowing wind. Gaze with me upon the sun-kissed cliff face Listen to the crashing white waves’ din. Give in to sleep on long returning journeys Smile, my love; sweet slumber always wins. I will show this haven to you someday. Stroll amidst the golden hue of evening Watch the sun sink slowly out of sight See emerging stars between the rainclouds As navy softly drowns the orange light Forget all cares and troubles from your city For only stares and smiles exist tonight. I will show this haven to you someday. Take my hand, don’t trip among the ivy Let’s climb up the tallest of the trees Look out upon the land and hills receding Stand firm amidst the shaking autumn breeze. If you’re still cold I’ll lend you my old scarf now We’ll wipe away these wind-brought tears with ease. Yes, I long to show this haven to you someday. © 2017 OneAmongstManyAuthor's Note
