Levitating

 

Anything and everything

Is that what you see?

Gazing into clear dark skies.

Look at the fiery life

Through the scopes and eyes of minds

So gigantic and so tiny all at once.

 

We move so fast

Through the greatest everything

Perpetuating, accelerating, levitating

Oh, how exhilarating!  

Can we never stop spinning?

Can’t we just live like this forever?

 

Look at the flashes outside

Flaring, blaring past this window

Reach out and touch everything

It is yours, I promise you.

The greatest star glides proudly by

Now wave goodbye to the night.

 

We drive on, we fly on further

Blue dot fading in the rear-view;

This is the time of our lives.

I see Saturn creeping closer

I see the edge of us and everything

Let’s beat on towards the final star.

Absolutely amazing! Your poem is filled with fascinating imagery and simple greatness. I see color and laughs and a time where one just, lives. You did a very good job. I was happily reminded of the book "When We Collided"- which I enormously adore.

Your imagery has me picturing landscapes on fire. Souls reaching for distant lands. Striving for something else. Something special. Always a pleasure to read your thoughts. Definitely a journey for the mind. Awesome.

This is almost filmic. Certainly very visual. And therin I feel lie its strengths which are many. I am reminded of films such as 2001 or the superb Contact which I have just re watched.
There are other layers to this complex write as well. One's of romance and the relationships between bodies.
