Cold, Dead EyesA Poem by OneAmongstManyCold, Dead Eyes
Wandering through the sticky streets Grey skies and stifling cloud A million stories never known Concealed within the crowd.
They would never share those tales Each wears his faux disguise There’s fear and love within them all Behind those cold, dead eyes.
They reveal it in their quiet moments To those they hold most dear But as for strangers, humankind They would not shed a tear.
Can we ever live and love Or are they separate quests? Within these passing stone-faced figures There’s sympathy suppressed.
Just let it shine, be a beacon; There’s enough light in us for all! Do not hold back your human heart However big or small.
There is a place which I can see Where that light never dies It dazzles for a fleeting moment Then breathes life into your eyes. © 2017 OneAmongstManyAuthor's Note
