One DayA Poem by OneAmongstManyOne Day
Peering into the unknown Anything can exist.
I see green fields and a freshwater stream Flowing through the long reeds and grass Which line its course, Flowing like the living fever that runs through us Turning the mundane into the awe-inspired.
I see lazy Sundays and lazy every days And the orange sunsets which grace our elderly eyes. We have lived and loved and lost and loved again And now we sit in comforting wonder At the beauty in which we are blessed to exist.
I see crackling fires and white-topped hills The pure, clear snow that dances through the sky Before taking a well-earned rest on the tip of your nose. That always made you laugh Funny how winter often seems the warmest.
I see the vegetable patch and garden shed And the quiet hobbies which now divide our time. Our contentment stems from the simple life Where anger or grief are vanquished By the slightest hint of a faint half-smile.
I see our night-time dreams and lullabies We weave in and out of each other’s minds Not even sleep can force us apart. The warm sunshine of golden morning sky Wakes us and brings with it the smile of fulfilment.
Do you see it too? I promise you, one day we will live it. © 2017 OneAmongstManyAuthor's Note
