Raindrops In The NightA Poem by OneAmongstManyRaindrops In The Night What a reminder of life Those raindrops falling loudly in the night When lying alone in the quiet and black They reinforce the earth’s perpetual motion - Life goes on when all around seems dark and still. Tiny and insignificant one by one But collectively they are a mighty force by day Holding the potential to wield destruction To extinguish hope and lives in a flash - They merely await their orders from above. And yet such comfort and ease Provided in the haze of tender darkness. Shelter and warmth insulate from danger From the realities of what lies beyond the door - Where lovers huddle and fear the night. Hear the ceaseless pitter-patter Let it soothe you into gentle slumber. Forget your sorrows and regrets this night They will still remain come rising sun - For the rain can never wash them away. © 2017 OneAmongstManyAuthor's Note
