The Pieces
A Poem by Megan Doeden
The illusion was shattered the moment you left the room. The moment you left my sight. I've seen you explore over many terrains, leaving different markings. Leaving little mystical pieces of your soul behind. I myself have explored the depths of your being trying to find a way around the wall. I became vulnerable to your light, to what creates those mystical pieces. You've watched me tinker with your eyes. Tinker with the pieces left inside. Then I coward away, believing those pieces were not for me to handle. That those pieces were left for those with character. For those who radiate light the same as you. Who have twinkles in their eyes, and who can make heads turn with one swift movement. But I stole one and you may not have noticed you my never notice. I have it though, for when you can't find any left over I will be one of the with the piece to make you feel whole.
The illusion was shattered the moment you left. Exploring over many terrains, leaving different markings. Leaving little pieces of your soul behind. I have explored the depths of your being with no success. Becoming vulnerable to your light that creates those little pieces. You've watched me tinker with the pieces you've left inside. I pull back though, believing those pieces were not meant for me. Those pieces were left for someone else. Those with purpose and a twinkle in their eyes. If you notice one is missing. I stole it quietly. Now it is mine for when you can't find another left over. I will be able to help put you back together. |
