Goodnight.

Goodnight.

A Poem by Megan Doeden

Some nights I feel okay.
Steady and calm.
The breeze kissing me
softly.
Allowing a quiet,
easy slumber.
I can picture you there,
beside me.
Breathing slowly
as you dream.
You feel close.

Other nights everything
crumbles around me.
Little things push you
back into my mind.
They make me miss you
when I can't feel your presence.

Being alone makes my skin crawl.
Tiny spiders burrowing in my bones.
Reminding me you aren't there
to comfort me.
I'm left
bleak.
Grim.
Lifeless.
