If I was someone else..

If I was someone else..

A Poem by Megan Doeden

If I was pretty,
you would have noticed quicker.
If I was gorgeous,
you would have found me quite charming.
If I was beautiful,
you would have heard what I had to say.
If I was flawless,
you would have found me interesting.
If I was stunning,
you would have held me closer.
If I was someone else,
you would have stayed.

If only I was someone else..

A truth that shouldn’t exist, yet it does... who you are is far more important than who you could be... don’t try to please those looking for who you could be.

Some people can be really shallow. There is a lot of truth in these words unfortunately. This sort of indirect rejection can be a slap in the face sometimes. Perhaps to that one person all that is true, but to several other people, I'm sure you're the only person they want. Lovely poem. 😊

This rings true to me on many levels. Excellent detail.
