A FeelingA Poem by Megan DoedenWhen we kiss my heart skips a beat.
as if it has been let out of its rusted cage. Free to cause chaos. Free to love. It feels as if a bomb has dropped, making it hard to breathe. But as soon as that single feeling is there, it's gone. I am instantly filled with the calm of the waves crashing against the shore. The bomb has been wiped away with the beating rays of the sun on the ocean. All has become silent, and time remains still, just for a second. my heart does a one-eighty. Creating a landslide of comfort. It feels as though I'm being guarded. This time not by me, but by you. By us. A curtain has been dropped around us, cutting out the outside world, and all that remains is two souls. You and me. And with a single kiss I've realized what it is like to be alive again. What it's like to LOVE. © 2015 Megan DoedenAuthor's Note
