Little Light.

Little Light.

A Poem by Megan Doeden
"

about a person I recently met./

"
I've seen this path before.
you walk down this narrow, winding road.
there is no where to go, but forward.
In the middle of this walk way sits a light.
It's beautiful, radiant, to say the least.
It enables a spark inside you.
Something that helps you smile and regain faith.
Something to help you keep going.
You continue to stare as it shifts through colours.
Green to blue to red and all that lie between.
You stand speechless,
amazed at how something so small can pull you in so quickly.
but as the night air thickens,
you remember that it is not your light to withdraw
it is not your light to keep and help guild you along your journeys.
Something you can not allow yourself to take to assist you.
You close your eyes and remember it clearly.
you take a deep breath in and cherish the moments well spent.
you proceed into the unknown.
you walk down this path once more.
feeling the breathtaking light inside you now.
remembering that it will somehow always be with you.
