Running From...

Running From...

A Poem by OnceUponAMelody
"

...what?

"

The mirror will go unseen

For the past is gaining

I will run forever

If necessary

To keep up with the home that I have found

The arms of the forsaken target me

Menacing

I feel their reach just grazing

And still it burns

I run from fire into ice

Denying all throughout

The grief

The vacancy

Myself

My weary heart slows

Unwilling to bend to my will

Sorrow is just a few steps forward

And backward

Are the bridges to you

I didn't put much thought or effort into this one, so posting it honestly makes me a little uncomfortable. That being said, don't hold back criticism. I still want to know. I just wanted to say that this isn't what I usually produce. I'm just kind of stuck.

I sense amidst the dark undertones a feeling of running to something, a reflection of what was left in the past...never fully escaping.

Beautiful composition, sometimes some of our best pieces are those we think the least about.
