![]() Paradox GauntletA Story by Alex Wirtes![]() Gauntlets are spread accross the land, used by guardians who prevent them from being gathered and creating the Paradox Gauntlet. An object of immense power that recreates the world the user sees fit.![]() Authors note: The forbidden world is a spherical dome containing the multiverse which was created at the end of the Omnicron Saga. The fierce deity and Omnicron are all thats left of the original storyline and since they created the multiverse they are now the omnipotent force that presides over it’s well being. They take whatever form they wish and observe the happenings of each planet within their creation being careful not to intervene unless it’s absolutely necessary. Neither too much chaos or order must be attained or the barrier protecting the old multiverse from annihilation at the hands of the new one escaping the dome keeping it at bay. Thus the Fierce Deity and Omnicron became the sentinels of Order and Chaos presiding over the forbidden world of their own creation. The reality bending element can be mined and utilized by anyone but is hard to find. It exists only because of what happened in the events of the “Omnicron Saga”. Before the multiverse was created Omnicron and the Fierce Deity were using immeasurable amounts of the elements power. When the multiverse was created the lingering fragments of the element crystallized and became parts of the newly forged planets within the multiverse. This occurred in order to prevent anyone using the elements power to its full potential again. Originally the element was more like a force than a physical object. But now its more like a blue crystal. Plot: There are these gauntlets that contain minimal reality bending power. There is one for each element, emotion, and alignment. Such as Fire and Ice, Love and Hate, and Light and Darkness. If all of the gauntlets are assembled they will create the Paradox Gauntlet. Once created whoever assembled the gauntlets will become the wearer of the Paradox Gauntlet. With the Paradox Gauntlet in control whatever gauntlet the person has the closest affiliation with will recreate the planet with the theme of that gauntlets power. First destroying it and then reconstructing it from the ashes. This is the reason why each gauntlet is given a guardian to keep the gauntlets from being assembled. Each guardian is a master of what the gauntlet’s power is. The only way to attain a gauntlet is to defeat the guardian wielding it and becoming its master. If someone defeats the gauntlets guardian but is not a true master of the power it possesses then that person will be brainwashed, possessed by the gauntlet itself, and become its new guardian. For those who oppose the assembling of the gauntlets create their own gauntlets by harvesting the “reality bending element” and fusing it to regular gauntlets. These mimic gauntlets only contain a fraction of the true gauntlets power and are frequently unstable having grotesque effects on the wearer. Setting: Xodaron is a beautiful planet which the story takes place. It is a green and blue colored world that is one of the few planets within the Forbidden World that closely resembles the Earth in terms of supporting life. In a way it is more advanced than Earth because the planets natural laws prevent it from producing any kind of natural disaster and also defends itself from the effects of global warming and other such disasters. © 2013 Alex WirtesAuthor's Note
