The Modern Day PhoenixA Chapter by OmniA discussion of immortality, family, and tradition.
I'm a staunch Traditionalist, let this be clear. In my younger years, and so far up to this point, I've always struggled to reach perfection. to become the ideal son, the ultimate man who embodies the spirit of mine culture, and masculinity. My success upon this task, is yet to be seen. But on to the main point, what I've gathered greatly from this experience is the observance of the "Cycle". It is, or became so obvious to younger me, that I merely thought it needed no open dialogue. But what only older me noticed, is that a man must codify his thoughts, his philosophy, lest the sea of Change rob him of the light of morality.
To explain this "Cycle", allow me to refer to the mythic Phoenix. The legend needs but a short summation. Instead of dying quietly, of allowing Time to rob it's vibrancy and fire, the Phoenix joins the flame at his peak, to be not only consumed by the Fire, but to give life anew. And from the ashes of this fire, a Phoenix is reborn, seemingly the same as before. Thus dubbed the Immortal Phoenix. And this cycle of death and birth is repeated,(assuming) forever.
Now, let us take this example and incorporate it into the previous. Of the two, the Phoenix knows to embrace the fire, knowing it is Death. So too, is the child that adults bare unto the world. When a man nears his dire hour, there is a sense of urgency, to ensure his life becomes immortal. He teaches, he builds, he fights for his name and blood to pass into Immortal legend. Of course, this is where the more wise of men enter legend. How? For what is a man, if he not once was the Son? We have all came from the seed of our fathers before us, grown in the gardens our mothers tend. Therefore, we see the modern Phoenix born again. When a man nears his timely hour, he must ensure his rebirth through his children. The Son must learn the Father's craft, he must be the embodiment of his will and legacy. When the son, finally after years of grooming and training, can stand tall. Ultimately being the pride of his Father's labor, and able to stand as equal with his parent. This is the moment when the Son becomes his own man. For if the Father were but a good man, diligent in his teaching, wise in his lessons, and noble in example, than he may enter Immortality! With all of these actions performed, the man may enter the land of spirits, content to know he will be immortalized forever. Yet sadly there exists an inherent problem many men (and women) fail to understand. In their ignorance and fear, they dread the passing of life from the parent to child. They see raising a child, of passing the mantle to the next generation as futile. To the traditionalist like me, this is the ultimate form of cowardice. Men have grown soft on quick and easy pleasures, content to squander the teachings of their fathers, and to live as hedonists anew. Such a state will only lead to the downfall, of not only the West, but of the world as a whole. For if the Phoenix abandons the flame, afraid of it's life giving embrace, it dooms the land to a world of darkness and Ice.
It is these Nihilists, these betrayers of culture, who tarnish and kill the Immortals. Afraid of the cycle, they reject it in their childish ways! Seeking Immortality instead by attempting to enter Heaven through shallow deeds, and shameless debauchery. There is something inherently insidious concerning this mentality. Why must common men fear their born duty? We are made Immortal, tasked to continue the teachings of our forefathers through one generation at a time. And if one generation forgets this sacred duty, our very culture is impacted. Who among us will teach the young boys the way of manhood? Who will teach the art of struggle, and to be stoic in ones duty?
I suspect the snake that poisoned the hearts of our men to be the machinations of Modernism, and the ultimate rejection of Traditionalism. We forget the words of the holy Father, make contempt of those who perpetuate the cycle, and make revelry in our excess. This of course leaving no time to care for our present course as a whole.
But I digress, too far I suppose. The important part which must be taken from this, is that of Hope and Faith. In this gilded age, we forget the great role our parents play, and sadly even some parents as well. When men feel weak, when they fear the eternal abyss, and the terror of the unknown, we seek comfort. I offer this comfort to these poor souls. The comfort, to know that their purpose is far greater, that the struggle of men are not in vain. To glory, prosperity, and dreams must we labor. To know one day, our sons and daughters will enter the world as their own masters, embodying our dreams, and improving upon the steps we have failed. That is the dream of the Phoenix!
To live throughout the ages, if not in Earthly form, but in the guiding spirit of our descendant's! For just as Jesus Christ came from the Holy Father, embodying our most Mighty God, so too shall the children of men be so. For in the twilight years of men's life, they may answer the Heavenly Father's call, satisfied that their work is ultimately Immortalized. To see the great and beautiful sight of their own children, becoming the Father and Mother they once were. To know that the cycle continues once more.
Thus I speak at an end. Though my own Father was not the ultimate man, I embody his legacy in the flesh. His ways, his teachings, are my own now, and God willing, I shall sire my own Son to continue the cycle.
