Hollywood Conditioned

Hollywood Conditioned

A Poem by Omily

I must be in a movie

Because sometimes I hit pause

And I'll taste the rewind

Like a bittersweet treat

That can give you food poisoning

Or give you a high, like a leap,

Like a climax, when you jump

100 stories with held breaths to feel

If someone is standing between

You and concrete with open arms,

And I can't tell you what genre;

It's a romantic comedy drama

Action packed horror

Sundance spectacular--

The plot is so irregular--

And I'll breathe and hit pause

And I'll wonder, what's more real?

The catatonic audience

Or the glittering big screen?
