Hate Child

Hate Child

A Poem by Omily

Let's spit words at each other

Until they grow and pile into offspring

Like a love child, but more like a hate child

And it's teething so it gnaws on everything

In its path that was good and sweet

But now it's sour,

And I won't waste another hour

Letting this child grow

So let's kill it

I killed it and buried it

Without the hope of reincarnation

Because I just assume

Its second life would lead to equal

Devastation

And I don't believe in resuscitation

Of a creature, my own child,

That could destroy me so fully

Our own child--

It will be dully noted

That we murdered this together

Butchered and slaughtered it

Because we don't know any better

And I don't know whether to be proud

Or steal my sorrows by surrending

My sobriety

And I'll make it my priority

To forget that this dysfunctional family
Ever existed
