You Wonderful People

You Wonderful People

A Poem by Omily

It's you wonderful people

That get on my last nerve--

I don't deserve

To be slapped by sweet nothings

With lips who are locked

Because nothing means nothing

And yet, you still talk

Bombard me

When to walk

In straight lines is a privilege

You think you're chivalrous

By coating my flesh

In jeweled words

Crystalizing me,

Too mesmerized

By the cocoon of gems

Set on my surface

With lack luster purposes

For, underneath

You dash

My hope--

It won't penetrate my skin.
