When You Read ThisA Poem by OmilyWhen you read this, your eyes Will travel with rhythmic precision From word to word collecting the Pieces, smooth like honey and dripping Like marmalade, but a little faster, Until you linger and desist at that last period, Steadily drawing a finish to my poem like Yarn you could see the end of as it Unraveled. When I write this, the words Erupt! Electric neuron explosions I jot precariously On a page I’m a little Unconfident About, welding my thoughts Spontaneously Into an illusion of a poem Much the opposite of Yarn you could see the end of as it Unraveled. © 2010 Omily |
