Unremarkable

Unremarkable

A Poem by Omily

I'm a little dark

But I wish I was light;

A graceful, smiling ray of light

Tracing a spotted carpet-

A cat bathing, silently thanking it,

Calling memories of wildflowers:

Nostalgia without roots.

I would make everyone

Who was touched by me

Glad I was here.

I am dark

I am

The spotted carpet

Worn, jealous, unremarkable-

Comforting, when you need it-

And the cat never thanks me

Except

When he lays in the light.
