Dear Fate

Dear Fate

A Poem by Omily

Dear Fate,

You are cruel. Don't laugh at me.

I hope I kill you.

Align my stars and make me a puppet to your game.

            That's how you play.

            I'm not playing your game.

She isn't mine.

We aren't meant to be.

There is no meant to be.

There is only my will and my decision

MY choice to push her away

And watch her back disappear like a shadow in the mist

She is not a part of me.

            We were two people.

We met. We were friends, then more than that.

We fell victim to a chemical imbalance in the brain.

            Some people call it love.

            We parted.

            We have two different compasses.

            We chose the directions.

You do not control my compass.

            You are an imaginary nuisance.

            I reject you.

            And by acknowledging you

I hope I kill you.
