Bed Warrior

Bed Warrior

A Poem by Omily

By day, irritating, scruffy little dog.

By night, bed warrior.

I can fall asleep safely

Knowing my dwarf of a dog

Is risking his life

To protect me-

In my dreams,

He wears a cape

And battles the zombies

From under my bed

At a size about fifty times larger.

I know you need

To conceal your identity

By growling and biting me

Whenever I move;

I hold my hand still

And let you stay on the bed

Because I know, when I dream,

You’re a bed warrior.
