Battle Of the Gods

Battle Of the Gods

A Poem by Omily

Your god needs damnation

To keep him satiated.

He fights wars with hypocrisy

Crusades, he explains, for peacekeeping

Inquires, will you kill for me?

And jihad means “just keep things lively.”

My god damns these abuses

She instead, and simply, chooses

The unpopular alternative

Sets out to send

Mankind to heaven in a hand basket

Recommends peace be made with buried hatchets

And as part of her dangerous doctrine

My god puts flowers in your god’s guns.
