Spousal Love

Spousal Love

A Poem by Omikron

Spousal love is conditional, as
Perplex as it is trivial, feelings
Lost in a space so liminal,
Once so visceral,
Now conditional.

Spousal love is provisional, feathered
Kisses are prized collateral, changing
Sheets, fraudulently sensual,
Merely habitual,
Merely conditional.

Spousal love is subliminal, whispering
Vows without a syllable, thirsting
Hearts, but the heart is undrinkable,
Folded into
 Something cyllindrical,
Round and conditional.
