Kindling Eyes

Kindling Eyes

A Chapter by Omikron

Oh, those kindling eyes,
That lit me like coal,
I basked in their warmth,
Certain of their permanence.

Now, distant embers glow
In another hearth,
While I wade through frozen waters,
Desperate for smoke signals
That rise,
But never call for me.
