Dust settles quietly

Dust settles quietly

A Chapter by Omikron

My finger lurks towards a single ray of light, promptly breaking through the sober prism -

There it goes, shattered.

The light bounces on the walls like a silent echo, it flows through the room -

Still, I wait for the boom.

Dust twirling in whirling pirouettes before quietly settling somewhere in the dark -

How is it so damn quiet?

My heart is on the verge of bursting into a raucous scream of bloody murder -

It demands to rip apart.

Your voice is magnifying within the walls of my brain, buzzing down my spine -

Insanity drifts me away.

As I fall and struggle to breathe, painfully aware of your barren absence -

The air becomes arid and dense.

The dust settles quietly in a flickering spin, sits with a sinister grin,

On the wooden floor.
