I don't want you to die

I don't want you to die

A Chapter by Omikron

I don't want you to die -
Of course not.
I wish you a long, prosperous life,
Where happiness, or at least
contentment,
Fills your days,
And sober, starry skies
Brighten your nights.
Where you keep chasing dreams,
And eat the bread you love,
Topped with that special ham and cheese
We searched every store to find.

We don't talk anymore,
But I don't want you to die.
In my head, your voice still echoes,
Your face etched like a scripture
Across every neuron.
And your laugh, oh your cursed laugh -
How could I forget?
My mind cradles your immortal memory
Because I don't want you to die.
Of course not.

But I can't let you live
In my heart
Anymore.
