Something Dawn

Something Dawn

A Chapter by Omikron

Every dawn has a something -
Every something has a dawn.
On the porch, the world glistens,
You can taste the hint of tin,
Reach into the darkness,
And find not emptiness,
But a whisper of something.

Every something holds a dawn -
Every dawn reflects a something.
Every love has its shadow,
Who decided it was too blinding?
Tell me, and I’ll find him.
I’ll show him every dawn
Held within this something-my heart,
Rooting deep beneath the sunrise,
Reaching for the sunset.

You were the dawn to my something-
A flickering light, turned away
In your shadow, I reached for your sun
A moth to a flame
Seek flight! They told me.
Yet, I'm too eager to hold my heart -
Seeking shelter only when it burts.

Covered in smithereens, I see behind the scenes -
Every dawn has a something -
Every something has a dawn,
You were my gleaming sunrise
And I, your fleeting pawn.
