All of my admiration,
Showers of kindness, carefully,
I throw your way when the rain
Falls extra heavy-
Letting your heart overflow,
But not drown.
All of my words I will align, like crosses
Sculpted and carved on the hillside.
Never minding the causes,
I realign the scattered letters
When yours stumble, blurred and frayed.
I’ll carve them clear, with strength and grace-
Let them shout, let them blaze.
Yes, all of my admiration, all of my words-
All of my "I like yous" and appreciation marches,
Even as my body arches and slowly breaks
For the sake of limerence, that bittersweet ache.
I will give you all of me,
And all of my words-
Except three.
You see,
Though I’ve wrapped my letters in satin
And placed them in your drawer,
Poured my heart like a gushing waterfall,
He is the one who holds it all.
He is the one -and only one-
To carry all my "I love yous"
For eternity.
He is the only one to bear
The crushing weight of my heart
As it pours.
Therefore, it can't be yours-
My heart is vacant, with barred up doors
Safely locked away
In a chest that’s pure, safe, and divine.
In knowing his heart, I’ve made it mine -
That's where I'll spend my "I love yous"
Until the end of time.
