Losing a Friend

Losing a Friend

A Poem by Omikron

Such is the feeling of
Losing a friend
Profoundly empty and cold
Bitter, resentful defeat.
Again, the gentle taste of tears
Grinds your tongue, your teeth
Your ability to appreciate affection
And kindness
Swiftly on a breath, it leaves you
Alone in the dust and dirt to
Pick up the debris.
