I said, I said

I said, I said

A Poem by Omikron

I said to myself, words felt so true
Chasing out the blue

I said, I said

I said to myself, I banished the curse
Tiny, vulnerable words

I said, I said

I said to myself, strong is this spirit
Your guns cannot kill it

I said, I said

I said to myself, wiggling my toe
Where it leads I'll go

I said, I said

I said to myself, this soul is as cold
As the world that I hold

I said, I said

I said to myself, strong is this spirit
Your guns cannot kill it

I said, I said

I said to myself, hearts are stronger
Than pieces of armour

I said, I said

I said to myself, though trust was not sown
Love I was disowned

I said, I said

I said to myself, strong is this spirit
Your guns cannot kill it

So I said, now I'm dead

I like the overall structure and the presentation of this poem, the way you've used your affirmative sentence s with black, and the other sections of the text with grey is great!

I like the overall truth that comes out of your piece, "Nothing ever can kill a strong spirit".

Wonderfully crafted, and presented.Thankyou for writing and sharing :)

I said that now I am dead the guns could blaze red... Armor on and stronger I am... I feel a bit less blue after this one, but that could just be death... Nicely penned...
