Prologue
They say people can’t travel between the worlds anymore,
but sometime people just slip in … like my Husband. I found him wandering
through, lost and confused. I told him he could stay a night because I felt
sorry for the poor thing. But his stay was lengthened, and then lengthened
again and again and again. And the more he stayed the closer we grew. Until
finally he asked me to marry him .When we were married our people were under
attack by the greatest military power in our world. His human magic was
amazing, sweeping through the enemy like a scythe. He fought them valiantly,
and fought them, and fought them. He fought until finally it was over. There he
stood amongst the dead bloodied, with weapons protruding out of him. He died
defending our city, our lively hood, our home. He died for a people who were
not his own, and he fought for an unknown cause. But I, his wife, know his
cause, I his wife, know his legacy.
