Chivalry Thou Art Lost!

Chivalry Thou Art Lost!

A Poem by Tiffany M. Sinclair
"

Oh how chivalry thou art a fleeting thing. Rarity in finding respect among young men.

"
Chivalry thou wast apart of every lads life.
Fathers taught their lads to respect a lass.
The lads Opened the doors, relinquished their seat, bowed,
spoke respectfully and never looked at a woman in a demeaning way.
Father's raised their lads to take responsibility in all that they set their minds to.

Young men took responsibility for their actions without a second thought.
Young men respected the woman's decisions,
forcing nothing on her that she did not agree or approve of.
Young men dressed respectfully, hip riders were unheard of in the plains.
There was once a time when even the worst of men would still respect
and greet a respectable lady the proper way.

Where has all the chivalry gone to? To the south or even the north?
I look across the mountain tops and to the valley...
Here and there it is such a rare thing to find.
It's a fading treasure! Oh how chivalry thou art a fleeting thing!

Can Chivalry ever be found again or art thou forever lost to the past?

Unfortunately, it's given way to chavalry. I don't know what you would call them, but a chav is someone who is a beer swilling, tracksuit wearing, loud and obnoxious thing who has to much to say and not enough free brain capacity to say it in.
Very well written, evocative piece, reflecting well on a time past and sadly missed.
Thank you for sharing.
