THE THIRD DAY

THE THIRD DAY

A Poem by Michael Jewel
"

life goes on...

"

On the first day,

Life goes on without error or regret,

The wind blows and the people chatter,

All is well and good,

Yet something seems out of place...

On the second day,

Life goes on, but the clouds begin to darken,

The wind grows cold and the people grow silent,

All is still well, so it seems, but not great,

Something still seems out of place...

On the third day,

Life goes on--but suddenly--there is nothing,

No wind, no people, no chatter,

All is gone, all has ended, and all is not well and good,

Something was always out of place...

So it seemed--but we're still here--ALL of us...

Because, life always goes on.

This was definitely a very interesting poem. At first, I thought it was about the world ending - and then I realized that there was still some life at the end. Well, that's good & makes this poem a bit more hopeful than I was expecting! Great job!
