Life As I Know It

Life As I Know It

A Poem by Olumegbon
"

Things never happen the way we want it but we still keep pushing, it's just the world we are in.

"
Vanity is enticing,
True goals dies within,
Crossed path with a damsel,
A relationship meant to excel,
Little did I know it was a shortcut to hell,
Regardless of all the years,
There's still no love story to tell,
I shared bread with a friend,
Dreamt of money on the same bed,
We switched tales of our pains with hope for a better end,
Shortly we became strangers who wished each other dead,
I chased a struggle for so long,
Sleepless nights but the results were still wrong,
I still stayed strong,
Till I watched my struggle pay others more,
Life has been unfair,
Especially when the little hope is not even clear,
Everything I've wanted,
Backfired in ways I never expected,
But am I to give up,
When this soul only lives once.
