Life As I Know ItA Poem by OlumegbonThings never happen the way we want it but we still keep pushing, it's just the world we are in.
Vanity is enticing,
True goals dies within, Crossed path with a damsel, A relationship meant to excel, Little did I know it was a shortcut to hell, Regardless of all the years, There's still no love story to tell, I shared bread with a friend, Dreamt of money on the same bed, We switched tales of our pains with hope for a better end, Shortly we became strangers who wished each other dead, I chased a struggle for so long, Sleepless nights but the results were still wrong, I still stayed strong, Till I watched my struggle pay others more, Life has been unfair, Especially when the little hope is not even clear, Everything I've wanted, Backfired in ways I never expected, But am I to give up, When this soul only lives once. © 2016 OlumegbonAuthor's Note
