Heart of Steel

Heart of Steel

A Poem by Olumegbon

Harsh past i forgot so soon,
Painful experiences vanishes swiftly,
But the blemish never goes,
Reawakening concealed sorrows,
The rage precipitously crucify my trust,
The trust i have for any giver of love,
They all deceive and lie,
Carrying their bags of unseen truth
Dressed in their rotten suit,
I build a shield,
To protect me on this love field,
I snatch breath out of my heart,
So it doesnt feel the touch of cupid's arrow,
Caring is therefore sinful,
As smiling no longer becomes visible,
Being passionate irritates my soul,
As making money is now my only goal,
I no longer feel those soft touch,
The ones that have sharp thorns,
My soul is cold,
My weak side has been sold,
Everything is black,
As my mind towards love is dark,
I find it hard to feel,
My heart is now made of steel.
