A Disturbed Mind

A Disturbed Mind

A Poem by Olumegbon
"

We all have that one person that tells us its going to be fine.

"
A disturbed mind so weary, burden so heavy I think I might perish. Thirsting for the beep from the lady I cherish. Craving for the speech that will help me avoid the ditch. The scars are too deep to be hidden by the stitches. Thoughts that itch, I'm known as the pain bearer. I'm choked on the drugs that's become a life saver. An escape into a clearer fantasy. Mind loosely dancing. Can't mock thou, said its blasphemy. Illusion fades, vision stays, mind is awake, reality in display. Did it take long? The journey of a transient pleasure. No one wants to go through the stress to relief me from this distress. Hence, I'm tensed. I hear her voice, The soothing whisper in the midst of the noise. I believe her words. It brings me hope, so I hold on to the rope not letting go of what I know and looking forward to a better tomorrow.
