A Devil in the Night

A Devil in the Night

A Poem by Alexandria

With a heart forged from ice

And a roar more thunderous than anything else

A creature that is silent as mice

Runs wild through the cobblestone streets faster than anyone else

Some call it a devil that hunts only children

A beast that is immune to the harsh flames of the fire

You cannot lure this creature near with a hen

For the beast haunts the darkest parts of the marsh

The creature is attracted to light

So if you stay up late to mop

You can be sure the beast will stop by during the night

You'll know when he comes by the faint clop, clop, clop
