The Sky Dancer

I love those poems where they wait until the very end to let you know what it is. :)

The Sky Dancer

So high in the sky,

With its clouds floating and swimming,

Keeping its distance,

It has no beginning,

 

Its knights marching all around,

Its rainbow lights,

Coming so brightly,

From the hollow ground,

 

It sways back and forth,

In the west and east winds,

Its strong dark bricks,

The massive lion’s den,

 

Standing higher than the birds, the crows, and the owls,

Higher than the full moon,

To which the wolves howl,

 

The butterflies hush,

The fairies keep it a secret,

This castle in the sky,

And there, they must keep it…

Author's Note

I feel like this is a reminder to my heart that there's more than meets the eye and somewhere out there, there's more than just what's here.
