Nine Days and Counting...

Nine Days and Counting...

A Poem by Olivia Starnes-Zielinsky
"

Um, if you haven't figured it out by now, I was an emotional wreck for much of college. It was also when I wrote the most.

"

Some a*****e nearly killed me tonight when he disobeyed and

Plowed through the crosswalk at Wal-Mart.

Caught at first like a deer in headlights then pushed by an unseen force

Out of the way.

Muttering, I continued on my journey toward the contact solutions " so I could see clearly.

But now that I’m at home, with my crazy demons swirling about my head,

I’m scared. I just realized that my first reaction to the car was this:

Finally, I’ll get what I deserve.

Normally, if I can't put down more than two lines for a review, I just don't review. But I suppose everyone appreciates the review even when it's less than helpful. Plus, poetry doesn't seem as meant for critique as stories. I just love it, especially the last line.
