Silence

Silence

A Poem by Oliver Free
"

Is it better to just keep quiet?

"
There was nothing but silence,
But why would I expect any less?
Vicious and controlling,
You couldn't be more boring.

"Hello, how are you?"
You asked, but I was so blue.
I never did want this
Unending, complete bliss.

Why would you find me?
All I wanted was to flee.
No one would question,
Would dare to ask.

The only one that did?
It was you.

As much as I desire
You more than the fire
Burning in my soul,
You do not define me.

Through my heart you tread,
With a boot well-worn.
Spinning, disturbing my head,
Maybe I am better off dead.

There was nothing but silence,
And though my mind may cry,
The heart I put out for you
Couldn't be more empty.
