Lost in the Rain

Lost in the Rain

A Poem by Oliver Free
"

A poem I wrote on a particularly rainy morning.

"
Yet again the rain falls
as I wander down these halls.
This silence, all-consuming,
Keeps the flowers from blooming.

It's hard to say when it began,
And harder to say when it will end.
The water's surface, knee deep,
Haunts my mind as I try to sleep.

The allure of the crystal clear droplets
Makes me ever more hesitant to stop this.
But I know, in my heart,
That some day we will part.

Part of me fills with a nervous fear
As I hold your hand, pleading for you to stay here.
But you told me it would be alright.
So I watched you leave, waiting with hope for night.

You never did come home.

Priceless!

It felt like sitting in a bench in the rain, watching someone slipping away from us into the invisible paths of life... It's amazing what nature and human emotions can do together... Great work mate...

Sincerely
Dhiman

Again, thank you for the review! Glad you liked this.
This reminds me if my poem 'Please'. Nicely written.
