Lover Boy

Lover Boy

A Poem by Oliver Lee
"

Another song I wrote lol

"
Chords, falling from my wrists
I lie awake, but soon I start to drift
Off to sleep, and in this constant state I'm in
I wonder how hard is it
You know, taking back all that I ever said
And, learning to love
or to forgive
Still here I sit
Quiet and alone
inside this torn up, town
a home, that loves
but love is blind
love is pain
and damn I might just be
one more step, but still
I'm only inches from your face
tell me, how can we be so close
yet still so f*****g far away

Floodgates, open and the world just pours out of me
tears will fall and trickle like the rain
on a drowsy day
when the meds don't work
and all the hurt is buried in the dirt
like the flowers that you burnt
that night away where everything seemed to be okay
and I felt frozen in time
the moment seemed to last forever
a lifetime of wonders in the eyes of my lover boy
or a cigarette flame
the tips of our fingers
as we kiss in the rain
the melody is sounding still as you and I search for the thrill
on the night we knew
forever felt like minutes
and I didn't want that night to end
